The “Around the World in Raleigh” video that we made in conjunction with International Focus can now be watched on YouTube.

The film, created by acclaimed documentary filmmakers Marco Williams and Danielle Beverly, showcases the diversity of Raleigh. In it, seven students of different cultural backgrounds show each other sites of importance to their families, helping us prove that it is indeed possible to go “around the world” without leaving Raleigh.

We hope that this film will encourage each person who watches it to think about how he or she might undertake an “around the world” journey in his or her own community. We’re eager to begin showing the video in school classrooms as a way of provoking discussion about what it means to grow up in a globally connected society.
